What kind of love are you made for?
What type of affection will captivate you?
What attention do you allow to steal your heart?
Do you know? Or do you care?
What kind of love are you made for?
If you could answer my question, would it revolutionize your life?
Or would your naïveté become even more blatantly obvious?
What kind of love are you made for?
If you knew, would your heart still be whole?
I’ll tell you what love you were made for:
A love that is patient and kind
A love that is not envious or boastful
A love that is not proud, arrogant or rude
A love that isn’t out for what it can get,
but what it can give
A love that won’t keep a list of how it’s been offended
A love that protects from danger
A love where trust is secure
A love that hopes–it always looks upward
A love that perseveres through hardship–
“for better or for worse” — it doesn’t give up
You were made for a love that never fails.
You were made for God’s love.
He doesn’t give as the world gives; He loves even though He know many will reject Him.
He offers a genuine love, even knowing many will refuse His offer for their own ugly, battered imitations.
But He never gives up.
